Topic: The Rise of Smart Buildings: How IoT is Transforming the Way We Live and Work
Join the ACT-IAC Emerging Technology COI February 2024 member meeting for a presentation and discussion from the IoT Smart Infrastructure Working Group.
Smart buildings and the Internet of Things (IoT) are transforming the way we live and work. Whether it is an IoT sensor improve building performance, energy consumption, and/or maintenance schedules, IoT-enabled smart buildings can encourage sustainable behavior, analyze equipment performance, improve safety/security, and foster a more connected and productive work environment. Leveraging the power of intelligent infrastructure and modern automation, IoT devices in smart buildings can generate vast amounts of data, which can be analyzed to assist building managers make data-driven decisions to improve the overall efficiency and sustainability of the building(s). By integrating smart city infrastructure with smart building innovation, cities can optimize energy consumption, reduce waste, promote sustainability, enhance public safety, and improve the quality of life for residents. Smart buildings and smart cities can work together to create a better future for all.
