Housing unaffordability, rooted in a shortage of homes both for rent and sale, is a problem in all 50 states. Montana faces an especially severe housing affordability challenge as it has become one of the nation’s fastest-growing states with housing prices rising to unprecedented levels.

Join us for a fireside chat with Greg Gianforte, Montana’s 25th governor and a vocal housing champion, who is committed to finding bipartisan solutions to expanding affordable housing opportunities in his state. From the creation of a dedicated housing task force, to the implementation of sweeping zoning reform, to streamlining the housing development process, the governor has consistently kept housing at the top of his mind—and the top of his state’s legislative agenda.

This conversation, the eighth in the Terwilliger Center’s Housing Leaders Speaker Series, will focus on Gov. Gianforte’s housing vision for Montana and explore how government and policy leaders in other states might approach increasing the supply of affordable homes.
