This week at CBPP, we focused on food assistance, climate change, poverty and inequality, and Social Security. Note we’ll have minimal to no postings the next two weeks. Have a pleasant August!
- On food assistance, Katie Bergh, Joseph Llobrera, and Dottie Rosenbaum explained that a nearly $30 billion cut to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and other harmful proposals in the House Agriculture Committee’s farm bill outweigh its improvements.
- On climate change, Rachel Jacobson described how states can ensure that communities most affected by climate change benefit from Inflation Reduction Act investments to reduce climate pollution and build climate resilience.
- On poverty and inequality, Javier Balmaceda examined how the exclusion of U.S. Territories from federal data hinders inclusive and precise policymaking.
- On Social Security, we updated our backgrounder and chart book on Social Security Disability Insurance.
