Recently at CBPP, we focused on health, federal tax, state budgets and taxes, the economy, and income security.
- On health, Gideon Lukens and Laura Harker explained how closing the Medicaid coverage gap would help diverse groups and reduce inequities. We also updated our resource tracking states’ unwinding from Medicaid continuous coverage.
- On federal tax, Samantha Jacoby affirmed why the argument that pass-through businesses needed a special new tax break in the 2017 tax law to maintain a level playing field with corporations is misguided and misleading.
- On state budgets and taxes, we updated our state tax cuts tracker with an entry on budget cuts facing Arizona, driven by the implementation of a flat tax and private school vouchers.
- On the economy, Nick Gwyn noted that the Wyden-Crapo unemployment insurance bill is a limited but positive step forward. We also updated our backgrounder on how many weeks of unemployment insurance are available.
- On income security, we updated our report examining Temporary Assistance for Needy Families cost recovery in the child support program.
