This week at CBPP, we focused on income security, food assistance, and state budgets and taxes.
- On income security, Vicki Turetsky and Diana Azevedo-McCaffrey detailed how directing all child support payments to families — as opposed to state and federal governments keeping a share — would help families afford basic needs and thrive.
- On food assistance, Zoë Neuburger outlined the benefits of enrolling a greater share of Medicaid and SNAP participants in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).
- On state budgets and taxes, we updated our state tax cuts tracker with an entry on how automatic tax cuts are beginning to threaten state budgets.
