Breaking Barriers: Poll Results on Paid Family Leave and Supporting Work
September 12, 2023 @ 11:00 am – 11:45 am
In an uncertain economy in which many employers are struggling to fill open positions, nearly 20% of prime-age adults (ages 25-54 years) are not working. Experts attribute this trend to a myriad of reasons, including caregiving responsibilities.
Join us for a first look at BPC’s latest poll on the barriers keeping those non-working adults out of the labor market, and the role that paid family leave can play in helping them return to the workforce. We will then dive in with a panel of state paid family leave program administrators from Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maryland, and Oregon. The panel will explore the role of paid family leave while sharing insights into different program structures.
