In Case You Missed It . . .
October 4, 2024 @ 2:35 pm
This week at CBPP, we focused on housing, food assistance, and health.
- On housing, Sonya Acosta outlined three principles for a rental assistance guarantee: providing long-term funding that adjusts automatically to meet changes in need, prioritizing people with the lowest incomes, and eliminating barriers to support equitable housing access. We also updated our backgrounders on Section 8 project-based rental assistance, project-based vouchers, the Housing Choice Voucher program, public housing, and federal rental assistance.
- On food assistance, we updated our guide on SNAP eligibility and benefits and our review of state SNAP websites. We released an update to our “Fighting Hunger, Feeding Futures” video, in both English and Spanish, underscoring the importance of SNAP for fighting hunger now and in the future. Zoë Neuberger updated a report on how state WIC agencies continue to use federal flexibility to streamline enrollment.
- On health, we updated our resource tracking states’ unwinding from Medicaid continuous coverage.
