Debriefing the European elections
June 11, 2024 @ 12:00 pm
The Atlantic Council’s Europe Center is pleased to host a virtual conversation on “Debriefing the European elections.” This conversation will take place on Tuesday, June 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ET.
Between June 6 and 9, European citizens will head to the polls to determine the makeup of the European Parliament. These elections will shape the future of the European agenda for the next five years and will further inform the appointment of a new European Commission. The elections will also impact the future of the transatlantic relationship and bilateral cooperation during a critical moment for Europe, the United States, and the world.
What do the results of the European election mean for the future of several of the EU’s agenda items from security and defense, to trade and competitiveness, to digital affairs? To what extent do the results reflect political trends across Europe? The Europe Center hosts an expert panel debriefing the European elections and what they may mean for the EU’s politics and policymaking and transatlantic cooperation.
This event is part of the Europe Center’s Transatlantic Horizons Series, which seeks to outline a productive relationship for the United States and Europe for 2025 and beyond.
This conversation will take place virtually on ACTV, YouTube, X (formerly known as Twitter), Facebook, and LinkedIn. To attend either in-person or virtually, please register above.
