Getting Early Childhood Right

April 3, 2024 @ 12:00 pm

Families are looking for practical solutions for early childhood education. Yet, for too long, the right has largely ceded the field to progressives content to dream up new bureaucracies and stick little kids in big institutions. But there are enormous opportunities for conservatives to offer affordable, family-friendly, community-centered options.

AEI’s Frederick M. Hess and Michael Q. McShane outline a vision for how conservatives can do just that in their new book, Getting Education Right: A Conservative Vision for Improving Early Childhood, K–12, and College. In this webinar, Dr. Hess and Dr. McShane—along with Virginia Deputy Secretary of Education Emily Anne Gullickson, KinderCare Education’s Patrick Murray, and the Abecedarian Group’s Celia Hartman Sims—will explore what a principled, winning conservative vision of early childhood education might look like.
