Taming the CMMC Process Means Understanding It

June 27, 2023 @ 1:00 pm 2:00 pm

Military contractors of all types are trying to work through the Department of Defense’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0. It has been something of a moving target, as the Department of Defense has changed the certification model from five levels in CMMC 1.0 to three in the current version, to better align with existing federal standards and cut red tape for small and mid-sized companies.

But the purpose of the CMMC is clear: to ensure that DoD contractors have a unified cybersecurity standard system to protect sensitive information. The intent is to incorporate CMMC into the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) and use it as a requirement when it awards contracts.

Join us as thought leaders from government and the contracting community discuss the elements of CMMC 2.0, how to implement its requirements, and how this process fits into – even strengthens – ongoing IT modernization programs.

We’ll Discuss:

  • Understand the intersection between IT modernization, cutting down on network and security complexities, and gaining certification
  • Identify the connections between CMMC and identity, credential, and access management (ICAM)
  • Review federal zero trust requirements and how CMMC supports them
